Pakistan and Russian Federation have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for naval cooperation. It was signed during visit of Vice Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Kaleem Shaukat’s visit to the Russian Federation. Spokesman of Pakistan Navy says the MoU would help expand the existing naval cooperation between the two countries. Vice Chief of Naval Staff also called on Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Federation. They exchanged views on professional matters and security situation in Indian Ocean.

Chief of Staff of Brazilian Armed Forces Admiral Ademir Sobrinho called on President Mamnoon Hussain in Islamabad on Tuesday. During the meeting, President said increased cooperation between Pakistan and Brazil is good omen for growth of bilateral relations. He lauded Brazil for its stand on entry of new members to the Nuclear Suppliers Group. He said Pakistan appreciates Brazil’s stance on Kashmir, which wanted to resolve it in accordance with UN resolutions. British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt has said general elections in Pakistan are an important moment for democracy. In a statement in London, he extended his deepest condolences to the victims of recent attack and said people of Pakistan have shown they would not be cowed by the terrorists who seek to disrupt the democratic process. Japan has assured its continued support to Pakistan and exploring new avenues of mutual collaboration. Supreme Court of Pakistan has directed PEMRA and Information Ministry to ensure an efficient media campaign for the fund announced by Supreme Court of Pakistan for Diamer-Bhasha & Mohmand Dams for raising public awareness. A four-member Bench passed this order while hearing Constitution Petition in Islamabad headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar. Caretaker federal cabinet has decided to grant an interim extension of three months to the registered Afghan refugees in the country. The decision was made at a meeting of the federal cabinet in Islamabad on Saturday with Prime Minister retired Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk in the chair. The meeting discussed, in detail, the issue of extension in stay of the Afghan Refugees. It was further decided to place the matter before the incoming elected government. China has urged the international community to give full recognition to the great efforts and sacrifices by the Pakistani government and people in fight against terrorism. President Mamnoon Hussain has returned home on completion of his four-day official visit to Tajikistan. During the visit, he met Tajik leadership and discussed ways to further strengthen bilateral ties in diverse areas. He also addressed an international conference on “International Decade of Action: Water for Sustainable Development 2018-28.” On the sidelines of the moot, the President held bilateral meetings with his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguli Berdimuhamedow and Chief Executive of Afghanistan and discussed matters of bilateral and mutual interest.
