Pakistan should strengthen its relations with neighbors and especially with central Asian states: Mian Fazal Elahi
Peshawar, November 17, 2017: Positive and developmental approaches in diplomacy which
based on mutual respect, cooperation, tolerance, peace, non-interference and for betterment of
the humanity is the need of day, said by Mian Fazal Elahi in a seminar entitled “Role of
Diplomacy and Foreign Relations” arranged by Area Study Center, University of Peshawar. In
key note, he mentioned the bad consequences of the gulf region and interests of world powers,
“In today world, wars are based on economic interests and Muslim world should realise, their
sovereignty is being exploited by others”. Mr. Mian Fazal Elahi further added that Pakistan
should strengthen its relations with neighbors and especially with central Asian states. Dr.
Fakhrul Islam, Director of the center stress on to explore new areas of bilateral relations and ties.
He also shared that a proposal suggest by him, is in initial stages to establish Pakistan study
centers in China to close the ties with neighbor in terms of culture, language, history etc.
Academia can also play an important role under the umbrella of CPEC to boost developmental
activities, Dr. Fakhar added. Mian Fazal Elahi handed over a set of his published books titled
“Bonds of Friendship between Argentina and Pakistan: 1951-2016” to library of the Area Study
Center, University of Peshawar. Large number of students and teachers attend the seminar.
