Pakistan, Azerbaijan to transform bilateral ties into sustainable economic cooperation

The understanding came at a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his Azerbaijani counterpart Artur Rasizada in Baku on Friday evening.

Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan gives great importance to its relation with Azerbaijan and there is need to further strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries in all spheres.

The Prime Minister informed his Azeri counterpart about gross human rights violations by Indian forces in Occupied Kashmir and thanked him for supporting the just struggle of Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination.

The Azerbaijani Prime Minister said Kashmir issue should be resolved in line with the UN Security Council resolutions.

He said Azerbaijan wants to enhance cooperation with Pakistan in different fields, particularly defence sector.

Delegation level talks between the two countries were also held on the occasion. Both Prime Ministers led delegations of their respective countries.
