Int’l Anti-Corruption Day being observed today

International Anti-Corruption Day is being observed on Saturday (December 9) to raise awareness about the evil effects of corruption on the society.

10465020011512784229The Day is also marked to bring an attitude change about efforts to eliminate this menace.

In his message, President Mamnoon Hussain underlined the need for ensuring rule of law for eradication of corruption.

He said it is heartening that during the last few years the tradition to ensure good governance, transparency in economic affairs and accountability has grown in Pakistan.

In a message regarding the International Day of Prevention of Corruption, Chief Minister Punjab said efforts are afoot to eliminate corruption.

He said that the aim to mark this day is to raise awareness against corruption and its negative consequences in the society.

He said recruitments in the provincial departments of health, education, police and other institutions has been based strictly on merit as only people recruited in a transparent manner can help to ensure merit policy in every walk of life.
